The renowned publisher has appointed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to direct the development team at their internal studio, which is currently developing the forthcoming over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as this innovative game.
Management Shift Comes After Poor Response
The new appointee assumes the leadership position at the development studio following the dismissal of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' lackluster early showing last autumn.
On Wednesday, 2K president a key figure updated team members about this organizational change through an internal memo, which highlighted that early feedback sessions had revealed the necessity for a clearer vision.
Ismailer noted that the developers is now reimagining the project with a refreshed focus, aiming to address player expectations.
Trend of Strategic Hires
This announcement echoes a comparable move taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they brought on an industry veteran from the Diablo team to contribute to the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.
Below is the complete text from Ismailer's announcement:
Hello Everyone—
I know you all just finished your town hall - I trust you’re as enthusiastic as I am with the positive developments. Last time I sent you all a message, I expressed the following: “I am confident in this crew. You all are some of the most motivated and talented creators we have had the chance to collaborate with - and we’re excited for that relationship to persist.”
Given your hard work and versatility, especially over the last year, you continue to prove that.
The player input from last fall’s the game playtest was revealing. It affirmed the promise of a roguelike shooter but told us we still had work to do. It revealed the necessity for a sharper vision.
It’s been inspiring to see how far you’ve progressed. You embraced the input to heart and reimagined the title with a refreshed vision - one that’s poised to achieve its ambition to our players.
Our confidence in this project grows every day. To advance the remarkable progress you’ve made, It is a pleasure to announce Ben Brinkman as the new Studio Head of the team. Following a period of conversations, he starts with us on the specified date.
Ben’s guidance and experience in the PVP shooter space is vast, having spent the last 15 years producing and managing some of the most popular franchises in gaming, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, and most recently, Apex Legends.
Please join me in greeting Ben next week. We are all excited to keep observing the progress of the game in the weeks to come.
The President

Game Details and Vision
